The Atmore 13-year-old Babe Ruth All-Stars finally met their match during their final game Sunday night at the 13U Alabama State Tournament in Demopolis.

After battling the weather all day, Atmore’s All-Stars were defeated 8-5 by Wetumpka handing them their first loss of the tournament.

Coming into the tournament, Atmore had managed to pick up where they left off after defeating Brewton in last week’s district tournament by winning their opening two games.

In their tournament debut game, which began Saturday and was finished today due to a rain delay, the Atmore All-Stars defeated Huntsville 6-2. Atmore followed up that four-point win with a three-point victory over the home crowd’s West Alabama All-Stars, 4-1.

Members of the 13-year-old Babe Ruth All-Star team include Coby Smith, Tristan McAnally, Trey Weekes, Dalton Daniels, Nate Smith, Tanner Smith, Brodie Amos, Aaron McDonald, Trey McGhee, Gage White, Billy Powell and Devante Stephens. Coaches are Tim McAnally, Tommy Smith and Jody Dortch.

The nine-team tournament is scheduled to conclude Tuesday weather permitting.

Additional results will be posted to www.atmoreadvance.com as they are made available.
