The Atmore 13-year-old Babe Ruth All-Stars were eliminated in their bid for a state championship at the Babe Ruth 13U Alabama State Tournament Monday afternoon falling to Theodore in Demopolis.

Atmore was playing for a chance to make it to the championship day of the tournament, but fell short losing 15-1 to the Theodore All-Stars.

After battling the weather on Sunday, Atmore’s All-Stars were defeated 8-5 by Wetumpka handing them their first loss of the tournament.

Coming into the tournament, Atmore had managed to pick up where they left off after defeating Brewton in last week’s district tournament by winning their opening two games.

Atmore opened the tournament on a tear winning their opening game 6-2 over the Huntsville All-Stars, and followed that up up with a 4-1 victory over the hosting West Alabama All-Stars.

Members of the 13-year-old Babe Ruth All-Star team include Coby Smith, Tristan McAnally, Trey Weekes, Dalton Daniels, Nate Smith, Tanner Smith, Brodie Amos, Aaron McDonald, Trey McGhee, Gage White, Billy Powell and Devante Stephens. Coaches are Tim McAnally, Tommy Smith and Jody Dortch.

The 10-team tournament is scheduled to conclude Tuesday weather permitting.
