FNB&T Magnolias beat Pepsi Challengers 10-5 in softball action

In Monday night Babe Ruth Softball action there were four games with two games being played by the 13 to 16 year olds; one game played by the 10 to 12 year olds and one game played by the six to nine year olds.

In the 13 to 16-year-old age group, the First National Bank & Trust Magnolias defeated the Pepsi Challengers 10-5.

Cheyenne Chafin who had a homerun, scored a run and had two RBI led the Magnolias, with support from Jessica Sanspree (1 hit, 3 runs), Kassie Overstreet (1 hit, 2 runs) and Deanna Feely (1 hit, 2 runs).

Sierra Bullin was the leader for the Challengers scoring one run and striking out four batters in the game.

In the other 13 to 16-year-old age game, the Atmore Strikers dominated the Flomaton Canes 17-1.

Ashleigh Simpkins and Courtney Cook who each scored three runs in the game led the Strikers. They also had support from Carmesha Crenshaw (1 run), Alanna Johnson (1 hit, 2 runs), Dara McCullam (1 run), Justin Poole (1 hit, 1 run), Olivia Tatum (1 hit, 2 runs), Edrobderia Thomas (1 hit, 1 run), Ychelle Walker (1 hit, 2 runs) and Jennifer Weaver (1 run).

Miss Bittingham scored the only run for the Canes.

10 to 12 year olds

In a battle of Babe Ruth Softball teams, the Atmore Utilities Board Flames edged out the South Alabama Vending Sluggers in a high-scoring 17-16 win on Monday at Tom Byrne Park.

Abby Smith, Hannah Boothe and Ciera Stots led the Flames with three runs each, while Tori Tucker and Bianca White each scored two runs in the win. Hannah Bailey, Darriona Nichols, Scoteria Riley and Nina Wiggins rounded out the scoring for the Flames with one run each.

For the sluggers, Aliaha Crenshaw and Lauren Metzler each scored two runs, while Katelyn Buckley, Chelsea Day, Suzanne Etheridge, Savannah Fullerton, Ashlyn Glick, Mercedes Hall, Raegan Lancaster and My’Auntala Mitchell scored one run apiece.

6 to 9 year olds

David’s Catfish Marlins came away with a 10-7 win over the Atmore Rotary Club Lions in Babe Ruth Softball action on Monday night at Tom Byrne Park.

Allison Price, Olivia Simmons and Miah Simmons who each scored two runs led the Marlins. Julie Conway, Maddie Presley, Skyler Riley and Madison Simmons all scored one run.

For the Lions, Adrianna Parker, Mary Thompson Lancaster, Ty’Asia Hall, India Crenshaw, Jordyn Boutwell and Summer Waters all scored one run.
