Greenlawn destroys Atmore Utiltlies 10-1

In a Monday night match up at Tom Byrne Park, Greenlawn Home Care crushed the Atmore Utilities Board 10-1 in Babe Ruth Baseball action.

Greenlawn held Atmore Utilities scoreless in the top of the first, and then let their offense go to work securing two runs in the bottom of the first inning. The runs came by way of Tristan McAnally (1-for-1, 2R) and Joseph Parker (0-for-1, 2R) who were knocked in on a single by Cody Nolin (2-for-2, R).

With a 2-0 lead, Greenlawn held Atmore Utilities off of the scoreboard again in the second and third innings to hold their grip on the lead.

In the bottom of the third inning, Greenlawn opened up their offense and extended their lead with seven runs. Greenlawn opened the inning with four straight runs as McAnally, Parker, Cody Nolin (1-of-2, 2R) and Trey Weekes (1-for-2, R) scored putting Greenlawn up 6-0.

The lead was pushed to 9-0 as Aaron McDonald (0-for-1, R), Nate Smith (1-for-2, R) and Devante Dailey (0-for-2, R) rounded out the inning with runs.

Atmore Utilities finally got on the board in the top of the fourth inning with Malcolm Black (1-for-2, R) crossing the plate.

Greenlawn pushed their lead back to nine runs in the game’s final at-bat with Nolin slapping a double into play and scoring on a single by Matt Chavers (2-for-3) to give Greenlawn a 10-1 win.
