The Escambia County Middle School football has been put on probation and fined for an incident that took place during their game at Gulf Shores on Oct. 13.

According to Escambia County Board of Education assistant superintendent Randall Little, the incident between players took place after a possible late hit during the game, which caused players from both sidelines to enter the field with no other actions taking place.

The seizure the player suffered and the incident between a parent and an official were two separate incidents that took place before the players entered the field for the late hit, Little said.

The conclusions of the three separate incidents are based on interviews that have been held to determine what took place, Little said.

The AHSAA has confirmed that ECMS was put on probation for one year and fined $250 for the incident. The players that left the sideline have also been suspended by the AHSAA.

A call to ECMS principal Linda Shuford has not been returned .
