Director Jackie Word said visitors can tour the facility and meet all the wildlife that lives there. The boardwalk will be open, and the butterfly house will be fully stocked with beautiful and colorful butterflies.

Six birds of prey will be there from the Coosa River Science School in Columbiana. Coosa River is a 242-acre property that hosts almost 4,000 students each year. They come and spend classroom time while learning about conservation. Some of the birds of prey that will be at Turtle Point will be hawks, owls, falcons and an American Eagle.

Tim Reno and his wife, Starla, who own Reno’s Reptiles  in Pensacola, Fla., will bring some of their animals for show and will include alligators, bearded dragons, scorpions, tarantulas, pythons, boa constrictors, chameleons and many more. After the show, there will be time for pictures with the big snakes.

Steve Trash is well known for his magic tricks that are also eco-friendly. He has traveled the world to places like Japan, Australia and Canada, as well as the United States. He has appeared on several television programs. His favorite message he tries to get across to both children and adults is, “you can’t do everything to protect our environment, but you can do something.”

This is the fifth year that Steve Trash has appeared at Turtle Point and he is always a favorite. He will be available for photographs.

There is no charge for the event, but there will be souvenirs, and the Flomaton High Band Boosters will be selling lunch and drinks.
