A Walnut Hill man was taken into custody by the Escambia County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Department Friday night in Bratt after he allegedly broke into a man’s home and assaulted him while he slept.

Dalton Justice, 22, was charged with felony burglary, assault and battery and felony criminal mischief, property damage.

According to the arrest report, Justice is accused of breaking into a home off Rigby Road, where he allegedly attacked the resident in a room where he was asleep.

The victim did not require medical attention but indicated he was dating Justice’s former girlfriend, adding that may have been the reason for the attack.

Justice was booked into the Pensacola Jail where he was later released on $50,500 bond.
