James Hildon Searcy

ATMORE – James Hildon Searcy, a native of Mobile and a resident of Atmore for many years, passed away at the age of 72 surrounded by his loving family on Aug. 20, 2012.

His parents, Mary Hazel Sims and A.J. Searcy; step mother, Voncille Screws Searcy and step sister, Shirley Ann Westbrook preceded him in death.

Survivors include three sisters, Alice Hilda (James) Hallmark, Jeanette Breakenridge and Marie (Tommy) Cates, all of Saraland; step sisters, Martha (Jack) Hall, Earline Jernigan and Hugh Westbrook, all of Atmore; step brothers, Louis Screws of Louisiana, Henry Screws from Texas; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and other relatives.

The family thanks devoted caregivers, Earline Jernigan, Hugh Westbrook, Covenant Hospice and Atmore Community Hospital.

Funeral services were held Aug. 23, 2012 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Interment was held at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Saraland.

Pallbearers were Jim Jernigan, Tommy Cates, George Hill, Darrel Breakenridge, Ronald Peebles and Zane Kelly.
