Deputies uncover meth lab

A domestic dispute at a home just off Alabama 21 ended with four arrests and one person hospitalized after Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies uncovered a meth lab inside the residence.

Larry Paul Jr., 36, 89 Bell Fork Road; Robert Mayo, 21, 1007 Bradley Avenue, Bay Minette; Jamey Bullin, 35, Highway 59, Stockton; and Dana Bullin, 34, 39 Bell Fork Road were taken into custody at 89 Bell Fork Road at approximately 10 a.m. Thursday, after deputies responded to the domestic violence call. Deputies said the female involved in the call was taken to Atmore Community Hospital and informed deputies about the presence of the meth lab.

According to a release from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department, “officers received a 911 call in reference to a male and female fighting in the yard at 89 Bell Fork Road. While deputies were responding, a second 911 call came in from the female victim stating she was at the Smoke Shop on Poarch Road, near the casino. As officers began to investigate the domestic violence case, it was determined that (Dana) Bullin had allegedly entered the residence on Bell Fork Rd and allegedly assaulted Paul and Jamey Bullin. An ambulance was dispatched to the Smoke Shop and (Dana) Bullin was transported to Atmore Community Hospital for injuries she allegedly received during the altercation. Subjects located at the residence stated (Dana) Bullin entered the residence, after the alleged altercation took place and took a wallet belonging to Jamey Bullin. As a result of the investigation, deputies were able to obtain a search warrant.”

Following a search of the premises, deputies uncovered the lab, methamphetamine residue, marijuana, chemicals that can be used to manufacture methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia inside the home, as well as in a toolbox on the front porch.

Mayo was taken into custody after deputies found a hollowed out lighter with narcotics inside and a straw-like device attached to it on his person.

Paul was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance; unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance in the second degree; unlawful possession of marijuana in the first degree; unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Mayo was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance; unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance in the second degree; unlawful possession of marijuana in the first degree; unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jamey Bullin was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance; unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance in the second degree; unlawful possession of marijuana in the first degree; unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dana Bullin was charged with theft of property in the second degree and domestic violence assault in the third degree.

All four suspects were transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
