Wind Creek Casino & Hotel will host the band ZZ Top as part of their La Futura Tour on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Amphitheater at Wind Creek.

The band nearly played at Wind Creek earlier this summer, but the show was cancelled at the last minute. As to claims about the stage, PCI gaming public relations coordinator Lynn Woodcock said the stage wasn’t a problem.

“There was no issues from our end as far as the stage,” Woodcock said. “We’re just glad to have them coming back for the fans.”

ZZ Top is known as ‘that little ol’ band from Texas’ and “La Futura” is their 15th studio album and first since 2003’s “Mescalero.” The band has sold more than 25 million albums in the United States and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.

“Based on their music, it’s legend. They’re an icon in the music industry,” Woodcock said. “From the youngest to the die-hard, they have a big fan base.”

The band first received national attention with the hit single “La Grange.” Some other hits include “Cheap Sunglasses,” “Gimme All Your Lovin’,” “Legs,” and “Sharp Dressed Man.”

“They were already contractually obligated to perform here. With the weather being the way it’s supposed to be and it being an outdoor event, we’re expecting an even greater turnout than what was originally anticipated,” Woodcock said. “I’ve heard nothing but positive things from the community.”

Tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com and Essentials Sundry Shoppe inside Wind Creek Casino & Hotel. Ticket prices range from $20-70.
