Duo gets big win in Lions Club golf tourney

The Atmore Lions Club Annual Charity Golf Tournament was held Friday, Oct. 12. The tournament began at 9 a.m. According to Shane Hadley, who worked in the tournament on behalf of the Atmore Lions Club, the tournament concluded just before 2 p.m.

There were a total of 22 golfers paired off by teams of two. The overall winning team was R.P. Phillips and Bruce Trammell with the lowest gross score. The team with the lowest net score was Jennifer Chism and Dewayne Dean. Both teams received a cash prize.

The entry fee was $100 per golfer and included a lunch donated by David’s Catfish House and beverages donated by Pepsi-Cola.
The tournament also included a silent auction with such items as a package donated by Wind Creek Casino, a package donated by The Preserve Golf Club, and a Bubba Watson autographed prize.

Atmore Lions Club member Chapman Maxwell offered thanks to the corporate sponsors of the event. Sponsors included: Diamond Gasoline, United Bank, First National Bank, and Creek Indian Enterprises.

Proceeds from the tournament will go to the Atmore Lions Club.
