Lady Cougars best Lady Rams

The Atmore Christian School celebrated their final regular season game by honoring the senior members on the team. The senior members include: Aimee Jurjevich, Jacinda Stahly, Narisa Wiggins, and Hannah Ziglar.

The contest involved the Lady Rams facing another local team: the Lady Cougars of Escambia Academy.
Three of the four sets were close, but in the end, the Lady Cougars came away with the win.

The first set was back and forth the whole way before Escambia Academy won the set 25-23. The second set followed a similar pattern, but with a different outcome: the Lady Rams won the second set 25-19.

Atmore Christian School came out in the third set with a big 7-1 lead, before the Lady Cougars gained the momentum and won the set 25-21.

The fourth set appeared to be another close set, as the score was tied 4-4, but the Lady Cougars quickly gained momentum and won by a score of 25-14.

ACS head coach Michelle Yoder praised the seniors and said she thought they were exceptional throughout the game.

Meanwhile, the Lady Cougars will host Pickens Academy in Canoe for the start of their area tournament with the Varsity game scheduled to begin at 2 p. m.

In other local volleyball action, the Escambia County High School squad will face Flomaton at 10:15 a.m. this morning and will face W.S. Neal at 3:15 p.m. hits afternoon in the Escambia County Volleyball Tournament held at Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton.
