Four arrested for Saturday morning shooting

Four Atmore men have been taken into custody for an early morning shooting, according to 21st Judicial Drug Task Force agent Scott Walden.

Walden said Atmore police officer Shaun Golden was traveling north on Alabama 21 at approximately 4 a.m. Saturday when came upon four males shooting into a home on Patterson Street.

Walden said the four suspects fled on foot into a wooded area near Patterson Apartments, but were all apprehended by 6:30 a.m. by the combined efforts of Atmore Police Department officers, Poarch Police Department officers and a K-9 team from Fountain Correctional Facility.

Ricky Tolbert, 19; Terrance Marshall, 18; Michael Mitchell, 21; and Reginald Yelder, 23, all of Atmore, were arrested and charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling

Walden said law enforcement officers suspect the shooting occurred in retaliation to a Thursday night shooting that occurred in the same fashion, outside a home on Mosley Street. Walden said that incident is still under investigation.
