Clerk shot and killed

A clerk was shot and killed on the scene of an assumed robbery at the lottery store in Davisville on Highway 97 just south of the Alabama state line officers confirmed Tuesday afternoon.

All that is known is the clerk was a white male and there are two suspects who wore masks. A man identifying himself as the victim’s grandson said his grandfather was the owner of the store and was 75 years old.

An investigation is under way, but is still in the preliminary stages. As details emerge, there will be further updates.
