Officials with the Escambia County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Department have released new information concerning the shooting death of a man at the O’ Yes Lotto store in Davisville Tuesday afternoon.

According to a release, storeowner, 74-year-old Gerald Kroll, was shot and killed after “an exchange of gunfire” during an apparent robbery.

The suspects in the shooting have been described as two tall, thin males wearing jeans and black ski masks. Both suspects fled the scene on foot.

Following a massive manhunt by K-9 teams and an air unit, reports have surfaced that one suspect has been taken into custody, however both Mike Ward, Escambia County (Fla.) public information officer, and officials with the Escambia County (Ala.) Sheriff’s Department have declined to either confirm or deny their validity.

According to the release, investigators are not releasing what, if anything, was taken from the scene.
