Two Escambia Academy runners participated in Saturday's 5K event.

The Atmore Community Hospital Relay for Life team raised a total of $979.50 in the Relay for Life 5K held on Saturday. Escambia Academy contributed $834.50.

“The 5K is a community event,” the event’s co-captain Erica Little said. “Escambia Academy showed up. It was not just the track team. It was the entire school. Escambia Academy showed up and made the day, that’s for sure. Our team would like to thank the community and Escambia Academy for their participation.”

Little also gave credit to the Atmore Police Department’s Samantha Bennett, who was the other co-captain of the Relay for Life 5K.
