Local band, Shane Harrell and the Major Moves open for national recording artist Uncle Cracker.

Atmore resident singer/songwriter Shane Harrell got a chance to display his talents on a big state recently. Harrell and his band, Major Moves, performed as the opening act for entertainer Uncle Kracker at the Auburn University Club Thursday, Nov.1 to kick off a winning Homecoming weekend for the Tigers.

The performance was followed by a Country Music Extravaganza featuring Easton Corbin, Craig Morgan and Dierks Bentley at the Auburn Arena Friday, Nov. 2.

Harrell has performed locally at the Atmore Mayfest in both 2010 and 2011, at the Atmore Country Club, Wind Creek Casino and Hotel, as well as venues all over the Gulf Coast.

Harrell is making plans to record his first CD in 2013, and will be back at the Wind Creek Casino Thursday, Nov. 29 from 8 p.m. until midnight.

When asked about his recent performance, Harrell said his favorite part was getting the chance to meet Atlanta Braves pitcher Tim Hudson and just feeling blessed to know he has more opening acts coming in 2013.

Harrell and his band perform country and southern rock music.
