The Escambia Academy Lady Cougars overcame poor shooting in the first half to beat Crenshaw 50-15 Friday night.

Coach David Walker praised his team’s defense, but would’ve liked to have seen better shooting.

“We didn’t play well,” Walker said. “We had good defense, but had a horrible night shooting the ball. We’re a much better scoring team.”
Walker added that the team made too many unforced errors.

EA did shoot well in the third quarter, outscoring Crenshaw 22-6 after taking a 26-6 halftime lead.

The game’s leading scorer, Grayson Emmons scored six straight points to start the second half. She finished the game with 18 points.

Lacie Flowers contributed with 16 points, while Sydney McGhee and Peyton Snider each added four.

The win moves EA to 10-2 on the season. EA will travel to play Morgan Academy on Friday.
