Lady Cougars beat Morgan

The Escambia Academy Lady Cougars improved to 1-1 in area play with a 63-47 win Friday over Morgan Academy.

“We did everything we needed to do to win,” said coach David Walker. “We did a lot of things well.”

EA had 59 rebounds in the game and a season high 17 rebounds, which Walker said he was glad to see.

“They did a great job sharing the ball with each other,” he said.

The team shot 39 percent from the field, but had 16 turnovers.

Grayson Emmons was the leading scorer with 20 points and Peyton Snider had a double-double with 14 points on seven-of-10 shooting and 12 rebounds. Snider also added three blocks. Lacie Flowers added 17 points in the win.

Sydney McGhee also grabbed 12 boards.
