The Lady Blue Devils lost 36-35 at the buzzer to area foe UMS-Wright Friday night.

ECHS led 20-13 with 6:37 left in the third quarter, but the Lady Bulldogs were able to take advantage of an ECHS scoring slump to tie the game up at 20 each in less than three minutes. Both teams were tied going into the final quarter.

The game went back and forth for the first three minutes of the fourth quarter before junior forward Keshia Williams put the Lady Blue Devils up two at 31-29 with 2:50 left in the game. A layup by senior guard Jasmine Ireland put ECHS on top again at 35-33.

But the Lady Bulldogs answered with a three-pointer with 11.6 seconds left to go up 36-35, but give ECHS the ball.

Williams was sent to the foul line with a chance to tie the game up on a one-and-one, but missed. ECHS fouls on the other end, but the shots were missed and Williams was fouled again with 7.7 seconds left. She again missed the foul shot and the Lady Bulldogs won the game.
