Local players sign with collegiate programsPublished 6:58pm Thursday, February 7, 2013
While many college football fans focused on their favorite teams Wednesday during the 2013 national signing day, several local seniors also broke out their pins to sign on the dotted line.
At Escambia Academy the focus was not on football, but softball, as coach Hugh Fountain’s daughter, Hannah Fountain, signed with Alabama Southern Community College.
At Northview High School, senior football players Neiko Robinson and Blake McCall both signed with collegiate programs months after helping the Chiefs to their first state championship.
Robinson, a long standing verbal commit to Penn State, officially signed with the Nittany Lions, while McCall signed with Jackson State University.
