“Officer Issac Lopez responded,” Kelley said. “Jones got out of the back of the house and took off towards Ashley Street in a light blue Nissan.”

Kelley said Jones was stopped and detained at the intersection of Sinquefield Street and Martin Luther King Avenue.

“Officers noticed the strong smell of marijuana in the vehicle,” Kelley said. “They found .7 grams of crack cocaine in the car and what is believed to be powder cocaine.”

Jones is being charged with eluding an officer and possession of crack cocaine, with other possible charges pending.
