The national debt, gun laws and unmanned drones were just a few of the topics covered Saturday during a visit to Atmore from U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby.

A crowd packed into The Coffee House on Ridgeley Street mid morning to hear Shelby’s take on some of the most daunting problems currently facing the country and residents were given ample opportunity to ask questions and speak their minds on current issues.

Shelby’s visit was just one stop on a weekend tour that took him through Mobile, Baldwin, Escambia, Conecuh, Monroe and Clarke counties.
