Marilyn Gainey

ATMORE – Life began for Marilyn Gainey on June 6, 1952, in Atmore. She was born to Aubrey Grimes and Ceola Gainey. She entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 8, 2013, at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. Marilyn was a graduate of Escambia County Training School and was known to many as Marilyn Grimes.

Her father, Aubrey Grimes; mother, Ceola Gainey-Wesley; and grandmother, Ruby Gainey preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories four sons, Malfert L. Gainey, William (Tina) Gainey, Darrin (Andrea) Gainey, Jeremy (April) Gainey; adopted father, Clausell (Bud) Hines; an adopted daughter, Sarah King; one sister, Cathy (Joe) Jones; three aunts, Betty Flavors, Laura Grimes and Vangerleaner Jackson; two uncles, Johnnie Smiley and William Smiley; six grandchildren, Amy, Dasha, Malcolm, LaTrenton, Alexandria and Larry; one great grandson, Elijah Cloud; her adopted family, Carolyn Carter, Ann McNeil James and Jettie Gee and Steve Johnson; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, at New Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, located at 1712 MLK Drive with the Rev. Harold Askew, pastor, officiating and Evangelist Betty Cox giving the eulogy.
