Walden said officers pursued Phillips, apprehending him on Medical Park Drive, just south of Church Street, where two bags of spice, or synthetic marijuana, and a pipe were found on his person.

Walden said when officers returned to Phillips’ motel room they found Phyllis Ward and Mike Rolin inside, both of whom were wanted on outstanding warrants.

“Ward had a warrant for driving with a suspended license,” he said. “Rolin had an FTA (failure to appear in court)  in Escambia County and warrants in Baldwin County.”

All three were taken into custody.

Phillips was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, as of Tuesday afternoon, he remained in the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton on $10,000 bond.
