Pitcher Tristan McAnally gave up two hits and struck out 16 in the 6-0 Escambia Academy win over Central Christian Saturday.

The win moves EA to 7-4 on the season.

“We played good defense and we pitched well,” coach Mickey Cannon said of the win.

Nate Smith went one-for-two with an RBI, Reid Bell went one-for-four with an RBI, Michael Thompson went two-for-three with an RBI, Trey McGhee went one-for-two with an RBI, McAnally went two-for-three with an RBI and Blake Clark had an RBI in the win.

The Cougars will play in a tournament in Monroeville over the weekend, playing Monroe Academy twice.

The Cougars lost 5-0 to Monroe Academy Tuesday.
