Before getting busy filling children’s baskets, the Easter Bunny will be visiting Heritage Park Saturday morning to visit with local children and pose for photographs.

This year’s Easter in the Park event, sponsored by the Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce, will be held at Heritage Park, located at the corner of Main and Craig streets, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and will include free refreshments, arts and crafts, Easter-themed games, Easter Express train rides and more, according to Executive Director Sheryl Vickery.

“This is our fifth year, and it’s just something that we do and it’s become a very popular event,” Vickery said. “We’ll have arts and crafts and games and sidewalk chalk and bubbles.”

Vickery said, along with all the activities, the Easter Bunny will also be posing for pictures.

“The only thing that costs anything in the whole event is to have your picture taken with the Easter Bunny,” she said.

Photos with the Easter Bunny will be taken by The L House Photography and will include: Package A – $25, includes a digital photo emailed the same day of the event with the right to print and share on Facebook, as well as two 5X7 prints and eight wallet-size prints; Package B – $20, includes two 5X7 prints and eight wallet-sized prints; and Package C – $15, includes one 5X7 and four 4X6 prints.

“It is just a welcome to spring,” Vickery said. “It’s just a beautiful time of year to be out.”
