Atmore celebrates Good Friday

As Christians around the world celebrate Good Friday, Atmore residents are finding their own ways to commemorate the day remembered for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, leading up to his resurrection on Easter morning.
On Highway 21, just south of Oak Hill Cemetery, McCullough Christian Center is presenting their annual Live Crucifixion Scene with their first showing this morning at 8:30.
“It’s great they do this,” an onlooker with a young child said during the morning presentation. “If it can bring just one person to the Lord, it is worth it.”
A second showing of the crucifixion story will be held today at noon. Admission is free. MCC will conduct Easter services Sunday morning, beginning at 10:30 at their location at 240 Booneville Road. For more information, visit www.purposemcc.com or www.facebook.com/MCC6561.
