An executive at First National Bank and Trust in Atmore will be leaving her position at the end of the week.

Rene Godwin, the bank’s vice president of marketing and consumer relations, will leave her position effective Friday to become a strategic account manager for Fidelity Information Systems out of Jacksonville, Fla.

While she will be reporting to an office in Orlando as a consumer advocate for the company that provides banking and payments technology, Godwin will be able to work from home, she said.

Godwin leaves FNB&T after nearly eight years.

“I enjoyed my time at First National Bank and Trust,” she wrote in an email Tuesday. “I’ve worked with some great team members who truly care about customers as much as I do. I’ll miss the relationships developed during my time here.”

Godwin called the move “bittersweet” because she’ll miss the community-oriented spirit of the local bank, but added that the new position is a “huge opportunity.”

“I was born and raised in this community,” she said. “I’ll still be involved in local events, but not as hands-on.”

Godwin said she doesn’t know who will replace her.
