United Fund in home stretchPublished 6:01am Saturday, April 13, 2013
As this year’s United Fund drive draws to a close, members will be once again hitting the streets for the annual boot drive.
Beginning today at 9 a.m. and lasting until just before noon, United Fund members will be visible at the corner of Main and Church streets in an effort to reach this year’s goal of $60,000.
Following United Fund’s last fundraising event, President Michael Arnold said the drive still needed community support.
“We’re still a little ways off of our goal,” Arnold said. “But we are going to continue making some last minute attempts so we can continue to help the organizations that need us.”
United Fund supports: Goodwill Easter Seals, American Red Cross, GECA, Save a Life, Atmore Area Christian Care, Progressive Civic and Recreation Club, Council on Aging, HIPPY, Atmore Coop. Library, Atmore Public Library, Atmore Youth Football, girls softball and Concerned Citizens.
