The City of Atmore joined 22 other towns in Alabama Saturday, hosting the second of four walking tours scheduled for this month.

Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Directory Sheryl Vickery led the tour, which featured Atmore’s historic downtown district and gave those walking the streets a brief history of the buildings that line Main, Trammell, Church and Ridgeley streets.

Beginning with Atmore’s roots as a train stop known as Williams Station, Vickery led the group, decade by decade, through the town’s transformation into what it is today.
