ACS shuts out West Florida at home

The Atmore Christian School Rams’ baseball team beat West Florida 15-0 Tuesday, April 16.

ACS capitalized on some errors to jump out to a 4-0 in the first and never looked back.

The Rams added three more runs in the second on singles and scores by Christopher Gehman, Jared Aliff and Wesley Hostetler.

ACS scored six runs in the third inning. Perry Metzler, Gehman, Caleb Hochstetler and William Swartzendruber all recorded hits in the inning, which was aided by two walks.

ACS added a run in the top of the fourth inning and another in the top of the fifth.

Gehman went four-for-five at the plate with a triple, an RBI and three runs scored. Swartzendruber went two-for-five with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. Swartzendruber gave up no hits in the win from the mound. The senior struck out 12 and walked three. Hostetler was two-for-five with two RBIs and three runs scored.

ACS played Central Christian Tuesday, but results weren’t available as of press time.
