Cal Ripken baseball and T-ball began this week with games being played Saturday and Monday.

In action from Saturday, the Poarch Warriors defeated the Lions Club Cardinals 12-2.

The Cardinals took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Chaston Helton scored on a double by Cam Wynn.

The Warriors got scores from Gavin Snow, Bailey Williams and Caleb Davis in the bottom of the inning to take a 3-1 lead.

Matheo Lopez scored for the Cardinals in the second inning to cut the lead to 3-2. Dawson Cox scored for the Warriors in the bottom of the second to extend the lead to 4-2.

The Warriors went on a tear in the fourth and final inning, scoring on runs by Preston Repress, Williams, Davis, Dumon Rolin, Tyler Rolin and Daughtry McGhee.

In a 12U match up Saturday, the Alabama Wing House Braves defeated Poarch Creek 5-1.

The Braves took an early lead with runs scored by Sam Smith and Bryant Quimby in the top of the first inning. Poarch Creek answered with a run from Tucker Spence in the bottom half.

The Braves’ Sam Martin doubled to lead off the top of the second. A hit by Jacob Morrison scored him to give the Braves a 3-1 lead. Poarch Creek went scoreless in the bottom half.

Cameron Cloud scored two RBIs in the top of the third inning to give Braves a 5-1 lead and the win.

In 8U action from Saturday, the State Farm Cardinals beat the Poarch Warriors 5-4.

The As opened the scoring in the fourth inning with runs scored by Exavion Bradley and Carnello Turner to take a 2-0 lead.

The Warriors answered in the fifth with all four of their runs. The inning was highlighted by a three-run home run by Josh Burkett. Braden Woods, J.T. Alaniz and Ayden Bonner scored.

The As put the game away in the seventh with three runs scored, highlighted by a two-run home run from Anthony McCants. Cody Peebles and Brody Brock scored.

In more 8U action, Poarch Creek beat the United Bank Warriors 2-1.

Poarch Creek scored both runs in the first inning as Steven Dunn and Carson Wilson plated. The Warriors scored their run in the third inning when Laketriz Barnes plated.

The 8U Northwest Escambia Farm Bureau beat the First National Bank and Trust Braves 13-3 Saturday.

NWE took an early lead, scoring three runs in the first inning as John Ward, Josh Landis and David Gilley plated. Ward, Gilley, Landis and Joce Giffords all scored in the fourth inning to give NWE a 7-0 lead.

The Braves scored in the fifth inning, with Ashton Cloud, Davion Steele and Christopher Johnson plating.

NWE answered with six runs in the fifth scored by Gilley, Landis, Giffords, Aiden Broadhead, Reid McCall and Ward.
