Rainy January of Atmore has made the Alabama A&M University Dean’s List and Freshman Honor Roll list for outstanding academic achievement. January, a 2012 Escambia County High School graduate, is majoring in computer ccience with a minor in graphic design.

January was also elected president of AAMU’s student branch section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc.   for 2013-2014 to assist students in the disciplines of electrical engineering and computer science. She is a charter member of the IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group that was established at AAMU in March 2013. She is also a student guide for the AAMU University Echoes Program, which is the university’s student guidance program to assist students and staff with programs, events, tours and information on the university’s schedule. January also served on the AAMU yearbook staff in 2012.
