Grand jury to hear sexual abuse case

An Atmore man arrested inĀ  April on charges of sexual abuse involving five children will now see a grand jury after appearing in front of Escambia County Judge Dave Jordan, who found cause to move the case while also lowering bond.

Carlton Amos, 66, was arrested on April 12 and charged with five counts of enticing a child, as well as five counts of sexual abuse of a child.Jordan ruled in favor of the defense motion to reduce bond from $200,000 to $50,000, but also ruled their was enough evidence to send the case to the grand jury, according to Escambia County Courthouse records.
