The 14-year-old Atmore Babe Ruth league All-Stars participated in an area tournament that got underway Friday.

The team includes: Marlon Lee, Gaetyn Thames, Brandon Cummings, Devon Robinson, Eric Williams, Nytorious Cooler, Kianoa Guamapac, Ryan Johnson, Xan McGhee, Rashaan Flavors and Bradley Geck.

Atmore faced Brewton in the first round of the tournament in Brewton at 5:30 p.m. Friday. Results weren’t available as of press time. The winner of that game faces Monroe at 2 p.m. today.

The loser of game one takes on the loser of game two in game three at 6 p.m. today.

The winner of game two takes on the winner of game three in game four of the double elimination bracket at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The winner of game four moves on to the championship at 4 p.m. Sunday to face the loser of game four, if it’s the team’s first loss.

13-year-old bracket released
The 13-year-old Atmore All-Star team will be one of the participants in next weekend’s Babe Ruth District 7 Tournament in Evergreen.

Atmore joins Brewton, Monroe and Evergreen in the field that will begin play Friday, July 5 at 5:30 p.m.

Monroe and Brewton will kick things off in that first game, followed by Atmore and Evergreen at 7:30. The losers of those games will face each other at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 6. The winners will play at 6.

The loser of the fourth game will play the game three loser Sunday at 3 p.m. before the winners play at 5. The championship game will pit the two teams remaining in the double-elimination tournament against each other again if needed.
