Burden joins United Bank

Atmore, Ala. – United Bank’s President and CEO Robert R. Jones, III announced today that Jerry Burden has joined the United Bank team as vice president and business banker. In his role, Jones said, Burden will be responsible for growing and maintaining small business relationships in the bank’s Santa Rosa and Florida panhandle area.

Burden joins United Bank having spent more than 20 years in the Santa Rosa market, including branch management, commercial lending and business development. Prior to relocating to the Gulf Coast, his community banking experience includes serving as a commercial lender with First Dallas County Bank from 1980 to 1982 and First Alabama Bank of Selma from 1982 to 1988. He is a graduate of the University of Montevallo, where he earned his bachelor’s in business administration. He completed the School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University and the National Graduate Compliance School at the University of Oklahoma.

Burden said he is excited about the opportunity to join United Bank and to continue doing what he believes he does best.

A Decatur, Ala. native, Burden served as an Air Operations Specialist in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1971 and was awarded an honorable discharge at the rank of staff sergeant. He currently serves on the Santa Rosa County Military Affairs Committee and is chairman of the Santa Rosa Affordable Housing Committee. He is a past charter member of the Milton Rotary Club and is past president of the Kiwanis Club of Milton and the Santa Rosa County Chamber of Commerce. His economic development activities include past secretary of the ESCAROSA Regional Workforce Development Board and past chair of the TEAM Santa Rosa Economic Development Council.
