Sure it’s early, but Northview High School football coach Sid Wheatley still wants his team to be more intense on the football field.

The Chiefs went 2-4 Friday in a series of 7-0n-7 drills in Cantonment, Fla. against mostly larger schools.

Northview beat Rocky Bayou and Bay High schools in the drills.

“We have to increase our leavel of intensity,” Wheatley said.

In addition he said the defense needs to be more aggressive when the ball is in the air.

He added that his quarterbacks need to get the balls out of their hands more quickly and wide receivers could run tigher routes.

Those are just a few of the things the coach plans to work on when practice starts Monday.

The Cheifs will take on Bay again on Friday, Aug. 23 during the Kickoff Classic.
