Tourney planned to help student fight cancer diagnosis

A double-elimination softball tournament to benefit Northview student Trevor Mathis is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 10 at Showalter Park in Century.

The tournament, organized by family friends, costs $150 per team to enter with proceeds going to help defray the costs of medical bills for the Mathis family.
In addition, a Facebook page has been setup to document Trevor’s progress called “Fight to Win” DTM.

Courtney, ECHS to host adult tourney

ECHS basketball coach Earlando Courtney is planning an adult league tournament for Saturday, Aug. 10 at 1 p.m. in the ECHS gym.

Courtney said six to eight teams have already signed up for $25 a team. It will cost $3 at the door to attend.
