Week six brings a change in the schedule for the Blue Devils as they will travel to Thomasville for a game that was originally slated to take place in Atmore.

The Blue Devils will take on the tough region opponent, after coming off a 48-34 loss in an offensive display at Faith Academy on Friday.

Coach Lev Holly said he was proud of his team, but said there was work to be done to prepare for this week’s game.

Northview at Jay

The Chiefs are 1-3 on the year after playing a schedule filled with teams from bigger schools, but coach Sid Wheatley said he hopes that translates to preparedness on the field Friday in Northview’s first district game.

“We’ve been playing some really good competition. It has been really tough,” he said. “Hopefully that level of competition will prepare us this week.”

Wheatley said Jay is a balanced team that looks to run the ball to open up the passing game.

EA at Pike Liberal Arts

Coach Hugh Fountain said the Cougars are just working to improve this week.

“We’re really working on ourselves,” he said. “We’re trying to make ourselves better.”

Fountain said Pike could present a problem for EA this week in the form of a quarterback who can run well.
