Poarch offering financial aid forum

The Poarch Creek Education Department is sponsoring a “Financial Aid” night Tuesday, Nov. 19. Vanessa Kyles, the financial aid director at Jefferson Davis Community College, will be the presenter. The presentation will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., in the Tribal Court Room in Building 300. Those invited include tribal members, first-generation descendants, tribal employees and the general public, to some and learn more about the Free Federal Student Aid Program and the new changes that have been made to the program, and how they can affect eligibility to receive Pell Grants, work-study assistance or federal loans. There will be limited seating, so please contact Billie McGhee at (251) 368-9136, or bmcghee@pci-nsn.gov to reserve a seat for the presentation. The reach the reservation, located at 5811 Jack Springs Road, turn onto Calvin McGhee Drive and then turn between the first two buildings located on the right. Travel to the parking lot behind Building 300, which is the second building. There is a sign on the side of Building 300, which reads, “Tribal Court.”
