United Bank is inviting teens ages 13-18 in southwest Alabama and northwest Florida to get creative with their video cameras for a chance to win up to $3,000, according to a United Bank press release.

The call for entries opened Nov. 1 for the 2013 “Lights, Camera, Save!” video competition, sponsored by United Bank and the American Bankers Association. The video contest is a unique competition that encourages young people to use video to communicate the value of saving.

United Bank will host the local level of competition and will select a winner in December to represent the bank. That person will then compete on the national level for a $3,000, $1,500 or $500 U.S. savings bond.

To compete, teens ages 13-18 should contact their local United Bank branch for a Contestant Entry Packet that can be picked up in person or emailed to them. Contestants will record and submit their 30-90 second video along with all applicable forms during the contest period, which ends Nov. 30, 2013. Official rules and more details on the competition can be found at teachchildrentosave.com.
