In this month of Thanksgiving, a local ministry is again showing its thanks to an especially important group of people — Atmore senior citizens.

Dr. Bernard Bishop Ministries will be presenting the sixth annual Senior Appreciation Day on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 6 p.m. The event will be at Deliverance Ministry of Jesus Christ, located at 103 N. 2nd Ave.

The night will include a free dinner and free entertainment, as well as other activities. All citizens 55 and older are invited to come out and enjoy the fun.

“The goal was to do something to honor those special people who have given up so much throughout their lives,” Bishop said. “We have always done things for the kids, like ‘Stomp the Yard’ and other events, but we didn’t always have something for our seniors.

“This is just our way for the ministry to give back and do something special for them.”
