Edith Grace Wilcoxon

Mrs. Edith Grace Wilcoxon, 69, of Century, Fla., passed away Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at her home.

She was a native of Akron, Ohio, and had been a resident of Century since 1978, coming from Montevallo. She was a 1962 graduate of Polk County High School in Benton, Tenn., and of Jefferson Davis Jr. College in Brewton, where she earned an associate’s degree in Arts and Banking. She was retired from Hancock (formerly Whitney) Bank and was a member of Poplar Dell Baptist Church, where she was treasurer and a member of the Century Chapter Order #188 of the Eastern Star.

Those who preceded her in death were her husband, John Roy Wilcoxon, her son, William Bradford Wilcoxon, and her mother, Evelyne Watson.

Survivors include her father, William Henry Watson of Cisco, Ga; her son, Scobie (Christy) Wilcoxon of McDavid, Fla.; her brother, William Ralph Watson of Gatlinburg, Tenn.; granddaughters, Toni and Hannah; grandsons, Scobie, Casey, Colton and Daniel; great-granddaughters, Kali, Evelyn and Kami and great-grandson, Seth.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Poplar Dell Baptist Church in Century at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Mitch Herring officiating.

The family asks that those attending join them at the church after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations or contributions may be made to the Poplar Dell Baptist Church.
