Tribal Princesses named

Megan Flurnoy was named the 2013-14 Poarch Creek Indian Senior Division Tribal Princess on Thursday afternoon, during the 43rd annual Thanksgiving Pow Wow.

“I am very excited to be able to represent my family and my tribe as a Tribal Princess,” said Flurnoy, who has previously served as a Junior Division Princess. Flurnoy also won the Best Talent and Spirit awards.

Sydney Lisenby was named the Elementary Division Princess, and Breanna Hall was selected as the Junior Division Princess.

Brooke McGhee was the runner-up in the Senior Division; Rachael Gregson was second alternate in the Junior Division and Gabriella McGhee was first alternate in the Junior Division; and Brionna Slate was the runner-up in the Elementary Division.

The pow wow continues Friday, with the gates open at 10 a.m. Intertribal dance contest winners will be named at 6 p.m.
