A Georgia trucker was struck and killed by a car Thursday evening in western Escambia County.
Terry Kines, 47, of Wrightsville, Ga. was killed when he was hit by a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu on Alabama Highway 21, five miles north of Atmore, according to Alabama State Troopers’ Public Information Officer Kevin Cook.
Cook said the man’s tractor-trailer was disabled and he was trying to direct drivers around the stalled rig, when he was hit by the passing vehicle just south of the Interstate 65 exit on Highway 21, at approximately 5:15 p.m.
Cook said the driver of the Malibu remained with the injured trucker until emergency responders arrived.
