Newly-elected congressman Bradley Byrne has re-opened the District 1 offices in Mobile and Washington, D.C., according to a press release from his campaign.

Byrne, a Republican, secured a victory in the Tuesday, Dec. 17, special election to replace former Rep. Jo Bonner, who resigned in August. The two district offices had been closed as of Tuesday’s special election contest.

“It is critically important for the people of South Alabama to have the services provided by a congressional office available to them over the Christmas holidays,” Byrne said. “Today, we have taken the first step in the process of getting this office back to full functionality.
