The American Cancer Society will hold a “Cupcake Thank You Reception” on Jan. 23, 2014, for the staff at Wind Creek Casino & Hotel, in recognition of the Think Pink Campaign that raised more than $19,000 in fight against breast cancer, according to an ACS press release.

The fundraiser, which was held during the month of October, featured the selling of breast cancer-themed T-shirts followed by a matching gift on behalf of Wind Creek Casino. All proceeds from the Think Pink Campaign benefit the casino’s team for Relay For Life of Escambia-Atmore.

“On behalf of the American Cancer Society, I would like to sincerely thank the staff and patrons of Wind Creek Casino for their hard work and dedication to the Think Pink Campaign and the fight against cancer,” said Christy Sexton, ACS senior manager. “I would like to give a special thank you to Arthur Mothershed and Melanie Boatwright for organizing the event. We are honored to have Wind Creek Casino in our corner as we strive to finish the fight against cancer and create more birthdays.”
