Kids win HES spelling bee

Huxford Elementary School held its school-wide spelling bee Friday, Jan. 10. Winners from each class competed against each other in two divisions — third-through-fifth grade and sixth grade.

The third-through-fifth grade division winner was Sydney Lisenby and the runner-up was Destinee Rolin. The sixth grade division winner was Ian McGhee and the runner-up was Tucker Spence.

The school winners will participate in the district bee, which is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 16, at Flomaton High School.
