The Escambia Academy Lady Cougars gave a valiant effort Friday afternoon, falling in the Class AAA quarterfinals of the Alabama Independent School Association state tournament, at Huntingdon College in Montgomery.

EA lost to Evangel Christian of Montgomery, 60-54, ending the Lady Cougars’ season with a record of 13-6. Evangel Christian improved to 22-5.

Grayson Emmons led the Lady Cougars with 22 points. Peyton Snider added 15 points and Lacie Flowers scored 13.
